Duniverse books you would like to read

Posted By SandChigger on January 14, 2011

If I could read, let’s say, any two or three books from the Duniverse I wanted, I think I would start off with The Last Jihad by Sumer and Kautman, followed by the Commentaries on the C.E.T. and maybe Maji Mahdi Muaddib wa-l-Jihad al-Firmaniyya (The Advent of Mahdi Muad’Dib and the Fremen Jihad).

What about you?

  1. Ah…the Orange Catholic Bible!

Not very original of me, but still I’d be curious to see which parts of organised religion made the grade.

    Dune by Irulan. :p

    The Bene Gesserit Coda.

Evening Chigger, still lurking, this was an easy one to pop a comment on.

Did you want books actually mentioned by name? or just those which may well exist.
Starting with (as a “non” fiction text a la the Dune Encyclopedia)…Leto II’s Breeding records and diary (can you imagine?!?!?).

Bene Gesserit Archives of The famine times? How many thousand short stories could you draw from one era.

The obvious “In my Father’s house” by Urinal Corrino. It’s the excerpt about his rage over Leto’s death.

  4. Greg Tidwell says:

    Dune, by Princess Irulan.

    I’ve been seconded!

    “In my Father’s house”

    Good call.

The Dar-es-Balat records would be good also.

  6. Kojiro says:

    The Tleilaxu Godbuk.

    ^ that’s what I’m talking about…..

  8. The Manual of Muad’Dib, Child’s History, The Collected Legends, The Stilgar Chronicle, Tleilaxu Epigrams, The Book of Diatribes, Ghola’s Hymn, Qizarate Creed …

The Oral History and Leto’s journals from Dar-es-Balat. And everything Irulan wrote.

    And everything Harq-al-Ada wrote.

    And the Godbuk.

Ok maybe it’s not such a simple question. Damn.
